A little bit about me…
Kiwi-born and Brisbane-raised, I’ve spent the last 6 years based in Melbourne, working in creative comms in the not-for-profit sector. My core skillset — graphic design — has seen me learn the ropes in educational publishing, travel and work in the Pacific region, and return to Australia to find my current home in Melbourne’s inner west.
I’ve been using my creative skills to help tell the stories of others for over a decade. I love all things design, writing and photography, and am always eager to collaborate on new, engaging projects.
My 9-5 gig is working as the Design Lead for Save the Children Australia, where I oversee all things brand and creative for the organisation, but outside of that, almost every waking minute is dedicated to footy!
I joined a local footy team in 2019, after an extended period away from sport, and it is safe to say that decision has comprehensively re-shaped my life. A single season was all it took to win my heart, and I am now a player, a volunteer, and a committee member at the club.
In my second season, I realised my growing interest in promoting and celebrating women in sport; and began writing the round reviews for my own competition, as a volunteer league reporter.
Whilst I have a keen interest in sport, most particularly (and unsurprisingly) I am an AFLW tragic. You’ll often find me in the outer, with my camera in hand, soaking up every quarter of the game. The 2022 Season saw me take the leap into podcasting, joining Gemma Bastiani to co-host weekly AFLW pod Footy, actually.
Most recently, I was successful in my application to be a part the latest intake of Making the Call, a program supported by the Victorian Government’s Change Our Game initiative. The program helps women and non-binary people to further develop their knowledge, strategies, and confidence to tackle a career in sports media and broadcasting.
I’m excited to add my voice and advocacy to the growing and impressive network of women seeking to change the game on gender diversity in the industry. And, of course, talk all things footy!
